Job Summary

World Wildlife Fund (WWF) is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Media & External Affairs Intern to support the team's overall functions and provide media relations and communications support. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, strong writing skills, and a strong research background.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support core media relations administrative and operational duties, including monitoring and reporting on media coverage, compiling media reports, and developing journalist outreach lists.
  • Identify new outlets and opportunities for earned media placement.
  • Assist with developing press materials, including statements, talking points, and media advisories.
  • Support media relations and social media efforts around key global events, including the UN General Assembly and Climate Week.
  • Develop and review dynamic content for social media, including social graphics, animations, and infographics.
  • Monitor social media influencers and identify opportunities for engagement.
  • Track traditional and social media metrics to evaluate effectiveness.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in communications or related field.
  • Media relations and/or communications experience preferred.
  • Ability to work full-time (4 days per week) for the duration of the internship.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite required.
  • Experience with content editing software, such as Canva and Photoshop, a plus.
