About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Event Driven Equity Sales professional to join our Global Markets team at CIBC. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for generating business for our Equities business, collaborating with our Equity Sales team, Equity Trading, Equity Derivatives, Prime Services, and Research team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive commission growth by generating and selling CIBC research and original trade ideas to deliver on P&L targets.
  • Provide investors in the US and Canada with CIBC research alongside deal-related insight while also gathering market intelligence and sharing it internally.
  • Initiate, maintain, and deepen senior, strategic corporate relationships in concert with Equity Research, IB, ECM, and other teams.
  • Gather, interpret, and share intelligence from corporate, industry, and investment sources with Research, Equities, and Equity Derivatives partners and contribute to our Research franchise, equity IP, morning call, and author a daily morning note.
  • Strategize and collaborate with other US sales and trading professionals to deliver on regional goals.
  • Provide feedback and insight across all sectors of CIBC's Research, corporate access, and events.
  • Proactively cross-sell Global Markets and Capital Markets products and support the goals of other business groups.
Requirements
  • Strong relationship building skills.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Exhibit creativity and independent thought in developing/refining investment ideas.
  • A relevant university degree in addition to Series 7 and 63.
  • 5+ years of event-driven sales experience.

About CIBC

CIBC is a leading financial institution that offers a competitive total rewards package. This role has an expected salary range of $200,000 for the New York, NY market based on experience, qualifications, and location of the position. The successful candidate may be eligible to participate in the relevant business unit's incentive compensation plan, which also may include a discretionary bonus component.
