Job Summary:

The Service Department Manager is responsible for leading the operational and sales efforts within the department. This individual will ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction is achieved through the delivery of exceptional service, project execution, and ongoing support.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Leadership and Management: Provide overall leadership for the department, ensuring alignment with company goals and objectives.
  • Business Development: Identify and pursue new business opportunities through client relationships, networking, and public postings.
  • Project Management: Ensure all aspects of projects are completed safely, on-time, and within budget. Provide guidance on safety practices and hazard communication.
  • Performance Management: Monitor progress towards annual goals and make adjustments as needed. Directly oversee staff, setting goals, reviewing performance, and developing staff to reach their potential.
  • Strategic Planning: Collaborate with the Human Resources Manager to ensure proper employee support and needs are addressed. Develop growth strategies for the department with Division and Branch Managers.
  • Financial Management: Determine and implement opportunities for margin enhancement and manage department budget. Enforce margin structure and monitor sales and margins for slippage.
  • Communication: Develop good relationships with field staff to ensure strong project communication between project managers and field project leads. Promote a team atmosphere and build loyalty for the company.
Requirements:
  • Experience: At least 5 years of experience leading a Service Department.
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor's degree in construction management or related field preferred.
  • Skills: Strong communication skills, both verbally and written. Organized, detailed, and able to prioritize tasks.
