Dining Room Host

We are seeking a highly skilled and enthusiastic Dining Room Host to join our team at House of Blues. As a key member of our hospitality team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional guest experiences and ensuring seamless service delivery.
Key Responsibilities- Greet guests promptly and courteously, ensuring a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
- Manage guest flow, controlling the pace of arrivals and departures to maintain a smooth and efficient service.
- Anticipate and respond to guest needs, providing personalized attention and ensuring their satisfaction.
- Direct guests to their tables, ensuring a smooth and efficient seating process.
- Estimate and quote accurate wait times for tables, maintaining transparency and setting guest expectations.
- Lead guests to tables, place menus on tables, and wait for guests to be seated before leaving the table.
- Market current and future shows, menu items, and retail by placing marketing literature on dining tables.
- Properly answer guest questions regarding the menu, music hall, and artists appearing at the House.
- Handle concert tickets and signature sheets, ensuring accurate and efficient processing.
- Obtain production sheets for current nights, member and spouse lists, and foundation membership cards.
- Check foundation membership cards and photo IDs, adhering to HOB dress code policy.
- Hand out wristbands and/or opera box passes, ensuring accurate and efficient distribution.
- Thank each guest for visiting the House, inviting them to return in a friendly and sincere manner.
- Knowledge of House of Blues-related art, music, and history, showcasing expertise and enthusiasm.
- Adhere to the HOB Hospitality Zone, maintaining a clean and organized environment.
- Communicate with other support departments, ensuring seamless service delivery and guest satisfaction.
- Communicate with door hosts, kitchen, and Foundation Room Managers to ensure proper flow and guest experience.
- Communicate with kitchen when large parties and special event parties have been seated.
- Maintain a clean and organized host area, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere.
- Keep the floor in the host area free of spills, food, trash, or other obstacles.
- Polish and clean all entry door windows throughout the shift.
- Maintain proper par levels for kid menus, crayons, fliers, matches, toothpicks, and calendars at the host stand.
- Maintain line of sight/atmosphere control by circulating through the work area throughout the shift.
- Maintain House of Blues safety and sanitation standards.
- Assist other departments as needed, demonstrating teamwork and adaptability.
- Appearance: Maintain a clean and professional appearance, adhering to HOB dress code policy.
- Punctuality/Attendance: Ensure timely arrival and attendance, maintaining a high level of reliability.
- Attitude/Teamwork: Demonstrate a positive attitude, teamwork, and a willingness to assist colleagues.
- Opening and Closing duties: Participate in opening and closing duties, ensuring a smooth and efficient service.
- Job Skills/Knowledge/Productivity: Possess excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with a strong focus on productivity.
- Adherence to Policy: Adhere to HOB policies, procedures, and standards, ensuring a high level of quality and consistency.
- Sanitation and Safety: Maintain a clean and safe environment, adhering to HOB safety and sanitation standards.
- Guest Satisfaction: Focus on guest satisfaction, ensuring a high level of quality and consistency in service delivery.
- Communications: Possess excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with guests, colleagues, and management.
- State or County Licensee or Certification Requirement: Possess a valid state or county license or certification, as required by law.
- Responsible Alcohol Awareness Training Certification or Equivalent: Possess a responsible alcohol awareness training certification or equivalent, as required by law.
- High School Diploma: Possess a high school diploma or equivalent, with a strong focus on education and personal development.
- Music Mall and Retail operations: Possess knowledge of music mall and retail operations, with a strong focus on sales and customer service.
- Working knowledge of restaurant operations, seating procedures, guest relations, problem-solving: Possess a working knowledge of restaurant operations, seating procedures, guest relations, and problem-solving, with a strong focus on quality and consistency.

- Previous experience handling VIP customers: Possess previous experience handling VIP customers, with a strong focus on quality and consistency.

The working environment is fast-paced, with extended periods of prolonged standing and working on your feet. The position requires the ability to lift or move up to 25 lbs using proper lifting techniques.
