Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Laboratory Assistant to join our team at Plumas District Hospital. As a Laboratory Assistant, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our laboratory services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process and handle specimens, including receiving, labeling, and storing them for testing.
  • Transfer ordered tests to the Laboratory Information System (LIS) and process billing information.
  • Provide excellent customer service to patients and staff, responding to phone calls and inquiries in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Monitor the patient waiting area and inform patients of wait times.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in using the Laboratory Information System (LIS) and the Hospital Information System (HIS).
Requirements
  • California Phlebotomy License.
  • Two years of experience in dealing with the public.
  • Ability to meet physical requirements as stated in the job description addendum.
