Compassionate Counselor Needed for Substance Abuse Treatment

About the Role:
We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Substance Abuse Counselor to provide support to patients struggling with opioid addiction. As a Substance Abuse Counselor, you will play a vital role in assisting patients through medically assisted programs and providing techniques for managing addiction. You will conduct group and individual sessions to help patients manage crisis situations and develop coping strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct initial assessments and evaluations to determine service eligibility

• Facilitate and review treatment plans with patients

• Complete bio-psychosocial assessments

• Involve families and significant others in patients' recovery processes

• Develop and participate in patient teaching projects

• Perform other related duties as determined by supervisor

Requirements:

• High School diploma or GED equivalent

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in a social or health services field (preferred)

• Previous experience working with chemically dependent individuals (positive factor)

• Certification as a CADC (Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor) or LADC (Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor)

• Ability to maintain a positive, non-judgmental, and accepting attitude toward patients

• Satisfactory drug screen and criminal background check
