Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Substance Use Disorder Counselor to join our team at BayMark Health Services. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in assisting patients through medically assisted programs and providing techniques for managing opioid addiction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct individual initial assessments and evaluation interviews to determine service eligibility
  • Facilitate and establish treatment plans with each patient, reviewing and updating as necessary
  • Complete bio-psychosocial assessments to inform treatment decisions
  • Involve families and significant others in patients' recovery processes whenever possible
  • Develop and participate in individual or group patient teaching projects
  • Perform other related duties as determined by supervisor
Requirements
  • Minimum: High School diploma or GED equivalent
  • Preferred: Bachelor's or Master's degree in a social or health services field
  • Previous experience working with chemically dependent individuals is a plus
  • Certification required: CADC (Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor) or LADC (Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor)
  • Essential: Ability to maintain a positive, non-judgmental, and accepting attitude toward patients
  • Satisfactory drug screen and criminal background check
