Accounts Payable Clerk Job Description

Vallarta Supermarkets is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Accounts Payable Clerk to join our team. As an Accounts Payable Clerk, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our accounts payable process.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Invoice Processing: Review, scan, and process invoices for assigned locations, ensuring timely and accurate payment.
  • Vendor Management: Validate vendor payment information, code documents to correct office and general ledger account codes, and submit and monitor payments.
  • Document Management: Maintain the filing system of all processed documents in an organized manner, ensuring easy access and retrieval.
  • Communication: Respond to internal and external inquiries regarding invoice/check status, and provide additional explanation or copies of supporting documentation as needed.
  • Problem-Solving: Analyze and resolve problems related to the payment process, ensuring minimal disruption to our operations.
Requirements:
  • Education: Minimum of two (2) years of accounts payable experience processing both general and inventory-related invoices.
  • Skills: Numerical aptitude, ability to perform detailed work, ten-key by touch required, proficiency in Microsoft Office, and ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines.
  • Experience: Previous experience working in a high-volume office where meeting deadlines is critical, and experience with the Microsoft Dynamics AX financial modules is desirable.
