Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare reconciliations for balance sheet general ledger accounts.
- Identify and rectify discrepancies, errors, and irregularities to maintain precise accounting records.
- Generate various internal and regulatory reports for the organization.
- Ensure compliance with accounting principles and standards.
- Utilize advanced Excel functions to streamline reconciliation processes.
- Support annual external audits and regulatory examinations.
- Establish automated reconciliation processes using relevant software.
- Oversee all aspects of accounting operations.
- Develop and implement procedures to enhance accounting efficiency.
- Maintain and reconcile the fixed asset register, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.
- Provide mentorship to junior staff regarding fixed asset management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in banking or credit union environments.
- Strong understanding of accounting transaction flows affecting the general ledger.
- Proficient in managing complex reconciliations and resolving outstanding items.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills and ability to conduct thorough research.
- Knowledge of regulations related to financial compliance.
