Job Overview

Primary Objective:

Accountable for the safe transportation of club members to and from the facility while ensuring the upkeep of company vehicles.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Operates the bus along designated routes, ensuring timely pick-up and drop-off of members at specified locations while adhering to established safety protocols.
  • Guides members on safe boarding and alighting procedures.
  • Continuously monitors the bus's operational status, reporting any maintenance needs and ensuring cleanliness.
  • Completes necessary accident and special reports as required.
  • Participates in training sessions, first aid courses, and other scheduled meetings.
  • Maintains a daily vehicle log and adheres to established routes and schedules.
  • Follows state regulations and organizational policies regarding transportation.
  • Conducts oneself in a manner that prioritizes the well-being of the members.
  • Undertakes additional tasks as assigned.

Training Duties:

  • Clarify fundamental concepts to trainees.
  • Encourage thoughtful discussion and engagement.
  • Act as a resource for content-related inquiries.

Relationships:

  • Internal: Maintain communication with program staff and management.
  • External: Engage with members and parents as necessary, providing guidance and support.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Valid Florida CDL Class B license with passenger and air brake endorsements.
  • Previous experience in bus driving is preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Must pass a mandatory physical examination.
  • No moving violation convictions in the past three years, as verified by the Florida Division of Motor Vehicles.
  • Flexibility in working hours and ability to manage various routes.
  • Proficient in reading maps and making independent route decisions.
  • Proven ability to engage effectively with youth.
