Senior Sales Director

We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Senior Sales Director to lead our defense industry sales team in the Northeast region.
About the RoleThis is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned sales professional to join our team and drive business growth in the defense sector. As a Senior Sales Director, you will be responsible for designing and implementing targeted sales strategies aimed at achieving corporate goals within the North American defense market.
You will identify and pursue growth opportunities, expanding the company's presence in both current and new markets to align with overall business objectives. Your exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills will inspire and motivate a high-performing sales team to achieve outstanding results.
In this role, you will also cultivate a culture of collaboration, accountability, and excellence, ensuring continuous development and engagement within the sales force.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sales Strategy & Market Growth: Design and implement targeted sales strategies aimed at achieving corporate goals within the North American defense market.
- Team Leadership & Development: Guide and inspire a high-performing sales team, driving them to achieve outstanding results.
- Forecasting & Performance Reporting: Create and deliver accurate sales forecasts, budget proposals, and performance analysis to senior management.
- Business Expansion & Strategic Partnerships: Proactively seek out new business avenues by establishing and nurturing relationships with government agencies, contractors, and key stakeholders in the defense sector.
- Market Insights & Product Development: Monitor industry trends, customer feedback, and competitor movements to spot opportunities for product innovation and refinement.
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- A Bachelor's Degree (preferably in a technical field)
- 7+ years related technical sales experience with engineered solutions in the defense industry.
- Strong understanding of sales principles and techniques, with the ability to develop and execute effective sales strategies.
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a sales team to achieve targets and exceed expectations.
- Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders at all levels.
- Strategic thinker with strong analytical skills and the proven ability to identify market trends and opportunities.
- Willingness to travel 50%.
