Position Summary:

We are currently seeking a Senior Vice President of Distribution to oversee our distribution operations during a period of significant growth. This role involves collaborating with senior executives and department leaders to ensure that our operational objectives align with the company's strategic vision and goals. The ideal candidate will possess a strong ability to strategize and work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment. Candidates should have extensive experience managing B2B/B2C distribution operations across multiple locations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the development and execution of the strategic operational plan for all fulfillment and distribution activities.
  • Collaborate with the executive team and department heads to prioritize projects and set ambitious yet attainable goals aimed at enhancing efficiency and achieving broader company objectives.
  • Guide, mentor, and support the on-site management team to foster learning and development, ensuring cohesive team performance.
  • Monitor daily operations, financial metrics, workforce levels, backlog, and service standards.
  • Implement revisions and improvements to scheduling, resource allocation, and production needs.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and uphold adherence to industry best practices.
  • Focus on productivity enhancements while minimizing operational expenses.
  • Ensure that each location meets or exceeds key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Define and manage the annual budget.
  • Lead network design efforts to accommodate future growth.
  • Evaluate distribution center networks to identify and strategize growth opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT, and safety regulations.
  • Analyze and resolve complex business challenges using analytics and sound business judgment.
Qualifications:

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Proven experience in a distribution center environment is required.
  • Over 10 years of comprehensive logistics, distribution, and supply chain management experience in progressively senior roles within a high-volume retail distribution context, including automation.
  • At least 5 years of experience in e-commerce, direct-to-consumer, high-volume LTL, and small parcel operations.
  • Experience with small parcel freight and LTL contracts, with knowledge of ocean, rail, and intermodal transportation being advantageous.
  • Extensive expertise in storage optimization, including both rack and bulk inventory management.
  • Demonstrated experience managing high-value capital investment projects, including automation and software integrations, as well as network optimization and establishing new distribution centers.
  • Six Sigma or Lean manufacturing experience is a plus.
  • Ability to analyze profit and loss statements and manage expense controls, alongside validating KPI measurement processes.
  • Proficient in fostering collaboration and communication across various departments.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and analytical capabilities with a keen attention to detail.
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time.
