Position Summary
The Human Resources Generalist plays a crucial role in delivering administrative and strategic support to the HR department. This individual will collaborate with the Human Resources Director, EEO Officer, regional Support Team, and other managers to enhance departmental efficiency in alignment with organizational goals. Engaging with employees is a key aspect of this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Address all internal and external HR inquiries or requests.
- Educate employees and managers on EEO principles, regulations, and company policies.
- Assist in preparing EEO reports and compliance audits under the guidance of the EEO Officer.
- Manage the end-to-end recruitment process for hourly employees, including job postings, candidate identification, offer letters, onboarding, and orientation.
- Oversee employee benefits administration, assist with enrollment, and conduct presentations to clarify benefits.
- Support the LOA and ADA processes.
- Collaborate with safety teams to implement DOT and Non-DOT drug screening protocols.
- Ensure annual reviews and updates of job descriptions.
- Maintain and update employee records with new hire information and changes in employment status.
- Conduct exit interviews and ensure compliance boards are current.
- Assist in various HR projects as directed by the Human Resources Director.
- Develop HR initiatives, policies, and training materials.
- Generate reports on HR activities and maintain electronic databases.
- Coordinate training sessions and employee functions.
- Maintain confidentiality in handling sensitive information.
To excel in this role, candidates should possess:
- A Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
- Preferred HR professional certifications.
- A minimum of 1-2 years of experience in an HR or administrative role.
- Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English is advantageous.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with Tableau.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively under pressure.
- High ethical standards and integrity.
This position typically operates in a standard office environment with a fast-paced atmosphere. Employees may occasionally lift up to 10 lbs and are required to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods.
