Position: Certified Payroll Specialist at Ledgent Finance & Accounting

About the Company: Ledgent Finance & Accounting is a leading provider of financial and accounting services, seeking a highly skilled Certified Payroll Specialist to join their team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in payroll processing, compliance, and reporting, with a focus on delivering accurate and timely payroll services to clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process payroll for employees accurately and on time, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
  • Handle weekly prevailing wage jobs to certify weekly payroll for union employees, maintaining accurate records and reports.
  • Address payroll inquiries and resolve discrepancies, providing exceptional customer service and support.
  • Maintain and update payroll records, including deductions, garnishments, and benefits, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Prepare and submit payroll reports, analyzing data and identifying trends to optimize payroll processes.
  • Collaborate with HR and accounting teams to ensure accurate employee data and seamless payroll processing.
  • Stay up-to-date on changes in payroll laws and regulations, implementing new procedures and best practices as needed.
  • Assist in year-end payroll activities, such as W-2 processing, and provide support during audits and compliance activities.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in payroll processing, with a strong understanding of payroll laws and regulations.
  • Proficient in payroll software, including LCP Tracker, DIR, and Elations, with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with HR, accounting, and other teams.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, with the ability to analyze data and create reports.

Pay Rate: $30 - $35 per hour
