Job Title: General Ledger Accountant

Job Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented General Ledger Accountant to join our dynamic team. This role is crucial in ensuring accurate and timely financial compliance and reporting. You will report directly to the Financial Controller and play a key part in our ongoing success.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Reconcile general ledger accounts and prepare monthly reconciliation reports.
  • Resolve reconciling items through research, communication with transaction owners, and journal entries.
  • Support the Controller with financial data requests from vendors, senior management, and team members.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory requirements for tax reporting and payment.
  • Track fixed asset purchases and maintain the depreciation schedule.
  • Calculate and file state and local fuel, excise taxes, and other tax obligations.
  • Provide guidance and training on accounting processes and procedures.
  • Prepare audit schedules and support documentation for audits.
  • Define, document, and maintain internal control and process documentation.
  • Collaborate with various departments to meet overall company goals.
  • Assist with special projects and additional tasks as needed.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in general ledger reconciliations and business tax filings.
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP, account reconciliation, and financial statement preparation.
  • Excellent communication skills with a professional demeanor.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and work independently.
  • Self-motivated, reliable, and possess a strong work ethic.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Creative problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word) required; knowledge of Oracle or NetSuite is a plus.
Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting is required.
