POSITION: FINANCIAL ADVISORY CONSULTANT

We are in search of a knowledgeable Financial Advisory Consultant to join a regional construction firm that focuses on significant infrastructure initiatives. This role entails delivering expert financial guidance, enforcing accounting best practices, and ensuring adherence to regulatory standards. You will collaborate closely with the finance team to evaluate financial data, refine accounting procedures, and aid in strategic decision-making. A robust understanding of accounting principles, financial analysis, and industry-specific expertise is essential.

Commitment: 10 to 15 hours per week

Key Responsibilities

  • Offer specialized advice on accounting standards and financial regulations pertinent to the construction sector.
  • Examine financial statements and reports to uncover trends, inconsistencies, and opportunities for enhancement.
  • Formulate and execute accounting policies, procedures, and controls to boost accuracy and efficiency.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning to facilitate strategic decision-making.
  • Conduct audits to verify compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Work alongside project managers to monitor project costs, revenues, and profitability.
  • Prepare comprehensive financial reports and presentations for management and stakeholders.
  • Stay informed about the latest developments in accounting standards and industry regulations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • CPA or CMA certification is required.
  • In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and industry-specific practices.
  • Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or similar tools.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Capability to work independently and manage multiple tasks concurrently.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with ERP systems and project accounting.
  • Understanding of construction contracts, revenue recognition, and cost management.
  • Certification in project management or related fields.
  • Familiarity with tax regulations and compliance specific to the construction industry.
