Job Overview:

Associated Milk Producers Inc. (AMPI) operates multiple manufacturing facilities across the Midwest, contributing significantly to the production of American-type cheese, processed cheese, and butter. Our esteemed dairy products are supplied to various sectors including foodservice, retail, and food ingredients. Key Responsibilities:

  1. Oversee the procurement of raw materials, consumables, personal protective equipment, and various goods and services.
  2. Collaborate with the production team to facilitate effective production scheduling and analysis, while promptly communicating any potential scheduling conflicts to the Purchasing Manager.
  3. Engage with internal departments such as manufacturing, maintenance, supply chain, quality assurance, and production to ensure seamless communication regarding lead times, material shortages, and schedule adjustments.
  4. Identify and evaluate potential supplier sources, assessing their capacity and compliance with internal standards.
  5. Negotiate pricing, delivery terms, and quality benchmarks with existing and prospective vendors to secure advantageous agreements for the organization.
  6. Maintain open lines of communication with vendors and internal stakeholders to address potential delays and develop strategies to mitigate disruptions in material and product receipt.
  7. Manage vendor selection, negotiation processes, product quality assurance, and supplier relationship management.
  8. Develop and implement cost-saving initiatives across projects and overall expenditures.
  9. Conduct reviews with suppliers and stakeholders to analyze total costs throughout the lifecycle of goods and services.
  10. Perform administrative tasks including supplier certifications and maintaining documentation related to suppliers and insurance certificates.
