Accounting Manager Job Description

At Marriott Greenville, we are seeking a highly skilled Accounting Manager to join our dynamic team. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the accounting functions of the hotel.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the activities of the Accounting Department to ensure accurate and timely financial management reports.
  • Manage the Accounts Receivable/Payable department to ensure accurate and timely management of all accounts.
  • Conduct regular training sessions to ensure compliance with Auro Hotels' standards and Brand standards.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to internal and external guests.
  • Prepare payroll as required.
  • Participate in the development of the property's plans and programs as a strategic partner.
  • Evaluate and advise on the impact of long-range planning, new programs, and regulatory actions.
  • Develop credibility for the finance group by providing timely and accurate analysis of budgets and financial reports.
  • Enhance and develop policies and procedures to improve the overall operation and effectiveness of the corporation.
  • Provide technical financial advice and knowledge to others within the financial discipline.
  • Continual improvement of the budgeting process through educating the General Manager on financial issues.
  • Provide strategic financial input and leadership on decision-making issues affecting the organization.
  • Optimize the handling of bank and deposit relationships and initiate strategies to enhance cash position.
  • Confers closely with the General Manager and takes every opportunity to become familiar with all aspects of the hotel.
  • Maintain and update financial policies and procedures.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or CMA preferred).
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in accounting or equivalent education.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
