Job Description

At NewAge Industries, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Controller to lead our accounting department. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing strategic leadership and direction to the team, ensuring compliance with all Company accounting, reporting, and tax requirements.

  • Leadership and Supervision: Provide direct supervision of the accounting organization, ensuring efficient processes and adequate internal controls.
  • Financial Reporting: Ensure annual financial statements are prepared in accordance with US GAAP (or local GAAP as appropriate) and oversee the Company financial statement review process with outside accountants.
  • Compliance and Risk Management: Maintain advanced proficiency in US GAAP, IFRS, and tax regulations to ensure Company compliance with new standards, code changes, and trends.
  • Core Accounting Processes: Manage core accounting processes and functions, including accruals, reserves, Fixed Assets, FX accounting, and Consolidation.
  • Financial Analysis and Planning: Assist with financial aspects of the Company's ESOP, including accounting journal entries, financial reporting, banking, funding of loan payments, calculations of dividends, distributions, and related activities.
  • Process Improvement: Contribute to cost accounting and inventory valuation processes, tax preparation and filing, and facilitate and manage annual insurance renewal process and other tasks with external parties.
  • Strategic Planning: Support the execution of the Company's Strategic Plan by ensuring appropriate resources within the team support any initiatives as appropriate.
  • Continuous Improvement: Maintain a continuous improvement mindset and constantly look for opportunities to improve procedures, policies, and resources.

Requirements

  • Education and Experience: Bachelor's Degree in accounting or finance, Masters or MBA a plus. 4+ years of accounting in manufacturing industry, 6+ years in a leadership role.
  • Skills and Qualifications: CPA and international accounting experience a plus. Solid understanding of US GAAP and manufacturing cost principles. Knowledge of manufacturing company financials and warehouse operations.
  • Leadership and Management Skills: Business partner mentality, will help internal customers achieve their critical objectives. Natural disposition to continuous process improvement. Solid computer skills in MS Office, with advanced skills in Excel, Word, and Powerpoint.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Can communicate vertically within the organization and tailor message to senior management, peers, staff, and outside partners. Above average organizational skills, can manage multiple priorities at once.
