Work Schedule: Monday - Friday

Department: Primary/Specialty Care

Position Overview: As a Licensed Vocational Nurse Team Leader at Optum, you will oversee moderately complex and/or specialized patient-oriented procedures under the guidance of a clinician or Registered Nurse (RN) to ensure patients receive the necessary care. You will also perform operational responsibilities as directed by the site administrator or their designee.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Guide and mentor team members in collaboration with the Site Administrator, lead clinician, and human resources department, acting as a resource and liaison among administration, clinicians, staff, and other departments.
  • Oversee clinical operations within a designated patient care area.
  • Consistently demonstrate behavior and communication skills that reflect Optum's commitment to exceptional customer service, including quality, care, and concern for every internal and external customer.
  • Assist the Site Administrator in ensuring adherence to licensing, certification, and competency standards.
  • Engage in all Nursing Leadership regional meetings and Nurse Peer Reviews as required.
  • Identify and participate in quality enhancement initiatives for the site.
  • Conduct monthly staff meetings to assess departmental needs and communicate operational updates.
  • Cross-train to support other departments as necessary, providing relief for team members.
  • Support Quality Metrics initiatives.
  • Assist with all departmental functions within the LVN scope of practice.
  • Attend all mandatory Clinical Teammate Orientation (CTO) sessions (both instructor-led and online), Annual Clinical Updates, and Skills validation, including those that may occur outside of regular working hours.
  • Uphold Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) standards.
  • Assist clinicians and licensed nursing colleagues in responding to patient emergencies according to Emergency Response Protocols.
  • Maintain and update administrative records.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Graduation from an accredited Licensed Vocational Nurse program.
  • Current California LVN license.
  • I.V. therapy & blood draw certification or willingness to obtain by the start date.
  • Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers (AHA) or willingness to obtain by the start date.
  • 1+ years of experience as an LVN/LPN.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1+ years of supervisory or management experience.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.

Compensation: The salary range for this position is competitive and based on various factors including local labor markets, education, work experience, and certifications.
