Key Responsibilities:- Provide Patient Care: Perform patient care functions, including assessing and monitoring patients' conditions, notifying physicians or healthcare professionals for disposition, and preparing and administering medications as directed.
- Assist Medical Personnel: Assist medical personnel with special procedures, minor surgical procedures, and diagnostic exams, while maintaining aseptic technique and infection control protocols.
- Monitor Patient Flow: Monitor patient flow and assign/direct other ancillary personnel as needed to ensure efficient and effective care.
- Provide Medical Information and Education: Provide medical information and education to patients, following established protocols and guidelines.
- Document Patient Information: Document pertinent patient information, assessment, and nursing procedures following established protocols.
- Transport Patients: Transport patients to/from designated areas, route specimens to the laboratory, and transport laboratory specimens, medical records, laboratory supplies, and materials.
- Administrative Tasks: Request charts/medical records, schedule, cancel, and reschedule patient appointments, initiate follow-up appointments with patients, and check in patients/members.
- Communication: Answer patient calls and take messages for providers, provide patient information to family members following patient confidentiality guidelines, and respond to requests for information.
- Experience: Minimum one (1) year of recent experience as a LVN in an acute/outpatient setting.
- License and Certification: Vocational Nurse License (California) and Basic Life Support certification.
