Core Responsibilities:
Ensures accuracy of patient information through interviews; documents medical history; confirms the reason for the visit. Prepares patients for examinations by conducting preliminary assessments; measuring vital signs such as blood pressure, weight, and temperature; and summarizing patient history. Assists healthcare providers during office procedures, including diagnostic tests and minor surgeries.
Safeguards patient information and maintains confidentiality by managing medical records; executing diagnostic and procedural coding; and adhering to privacy regulations.
Guides patients by communicating physician's instructions and addressing inquiries regarding procedures.Coordinates surgical schedules by liaising with surgical centers; confirming timings with patients; and preparing necessary documentation.
Promotes a safe and healthy workplace by adhering to established standards and legal requirements. Maintains inventory by tracking supplies; placing orders; and verifying deliveries. Ensures equipment functionality by following operational guidelines; troubleshooting issues; maintaining supplies; and arranging repairs as needed. Enhances professional knowledge by engaging in educational opportunities and reviewing relevant literature. Upholds the integrity of the practice by complying with professional standards, policies, and regulations at all levels.Contributes to the practice's reputation by taking initiative in fulfilling new and diverse requests; seeking opportunities to enhance job performance.
Other duties as assigned. Qualifications and Educational Background: High School diploma or equivalent is required. Prior experience in a medical office setting is essential, though certification (CMA) is not mandatory. Current CPR certification is required. A minimum of two years of relevant experience is preferred.Proficient in taking vital signs and experienced in processing medication refill requests and laboratory orders within a clinical environment. A general understanding of medical practices is necessary.
Required Skills: Strong judgment, reliability, and conscientious work ethic.Detail-oriented with exceptional interpersonal and communication abilities. Compassionate and empathetic demeanor. High ethical standards. Mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity for operating complex equipment.
