Job Summary

Cleveland Clinic is seeking a highly skilled Advanced Practice Provider (APRN) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join our Orthopaedic Surgery team. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide high-quality patient care, collaborate with physicians, and contribute to the development of treatment plans.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough medical histories and perform complete physical examinations to establish a record of the patient's current health status and develop a working diagnosis and treatment plan.
  • Collaborate with physicians to provide comprehensive care, including pre and post-operative care, consultations, and hospital rounds.
  • Perform routine procedures such as injections, immunizations, suturing, and wound care, as well as assist in the management of complex illnesses and injuries.
  • Prescribe and monitor medications as allowed by prescriptive authority and CCF policy.
  • Participate in medical team rounds, collaborate with nursing and other healthcare team members, and ensure quality patient care.
  • Refer patients to specialists as appropriate and ensure continuity of care by serving as a liaison between patients and other members of the care team.
  • Perform research follow-up studies, assist in data analysis, and participate in quality monitoring to ensure quality care.
  • Facilitate appropriate length of stay, discharge planning, and compliance with regulatory standards for inpatient management.
  • May serve as a clinical preceptor for PA/APRN students and other health professionals, and may serve as faculty for onboarding new employees.
Requirements
  • APRN: MSN or higher graduate degree in nursing required upon hire or within 3 years of hire for external hires and internal hires moving from a non-APRN licensed role to an APRN licensed role. Graduate of an accredited APRN graduate program.
  • PA: Graduate of an A.R.C.-approved Physician Assistant Program. Master's degree in Physician Assistant Studies and/or applicable state license through the State Medical Board for certificate to practice.
  • Current certification as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse or Physician Assistant through a nationally accredited organization recognized by the state Board of Nursing or Medicine.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association (AHA) required. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) through the American Heart Association (AHA) may be required based upon work setting.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Two years clinical nursing experience preferred for APRN. Two years relative clinical experience preferred for PA.
