Position Overview:
As a critical care provider, you will deliver essential medical services in both medical and surgical intensive care units under the supervision of physicians. Your responsibilities will include conducting thorough patient assessments, managing ongoing medical care, and performing specialized procedures such as central line and arterial line insertions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive medical histories and physical examinations to evaluate patient health.
  • Order and interpret laboratory and diagnostic tests to formulate treatment plans.
  • Engage in multidisciplinary team rounds to ensure optimal patient care.
  • Educate patients on their health conditions, treatment options, and preventive care.
  • Facilitate continuity of care by coordinating with other healthcare professionals.
  • Participate in quality assurance initiatives to monitor patient outcomes.
  • Serve as a clinical mentor for students and new staff members.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Valid Florida license as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) or Physician Assistant (PA).
  • National certification as an Adult Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP-BC, AGACNP-BC, ACNPC-AG, or ACNPC) or certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
  • Experience in a critical care environment is essential.

Education Requirements:
  • APRN: MSN or higher in nursing from an accredited program.
  • PA: Graduate of an A.R.C.-approved Physician Assistant Program with a Master's degree in Physician Assistant Studies.

Certifications:
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) is required.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification may be necessary based on the work setting.

Skills and Competencies:
  • Strong analytical and decision-making abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in advanced assessment and diagnostic skills.
  • Commitment to ethical standards and compassionate patient care.
