Job Summary

Cleveland Clinic is seeking a highly skilled Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join our Orthopaedic Surgery team. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide high-quality patient care, collaborate with physicians, and contribute to the development of treatment plans.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough medical histories, perform complete physical examinations, and initiate appropriate lab and radiology tests to establish a record of the patient's current health status and develop a working diagnosis and treatment plan.
  • Collaborate with physicians to provide comprehensive care, including pre and post-operative care, consultations, and hospital rounds.
  • Perform routine procedures such as injections, immunizations, suturing, and wound care, as well as assist in the management of complex illnesses and injuries.
  • Prescribe and monitor medications as allowed by prescriptive authority, and participate in medical team rounds to ensure quality patient care.
  • Refers patients to specialists as appropriate, and ensures continuity of care by serving as a liaison between patients and other members of the multidisciplinary care team.
  • Participates in quality monitoring, data analysis, and research follow-up studies to assure quality care and improve patient outcomes.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in nursing or physician assistant studies, and current licensure as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) or Physician Assistant (PA).
  • National certification as an APRN or PA, and basic life support certification through the American Heart Association.
  • Ability to work as a member of a multidisciplinary team, and demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent analytical and decision-making skills, with the ability to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Two years of clinical experience as an APRN or PA, with a focus on orthopaedic surgery.
  • Experience working in a multidisciplinary team environment, with a focus on patient-centered care.
