Position Overview
As a vital member of BioSpace, Inc., you will play a crucial role in fostering a safe and compliant working environment. Your responsibilities will include providing essential support for production and maintenance operations while collecting and reporting on environmental data.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and implement safety initiatives across the organization.
- Collaborate with Production and Maintenance teams to enhance safety management practices.
- Offer safety expertise and solutions to management and project teams to address known or potential hazards.
- Conduct safety training sessions and provide tools to improve safety performance in core processes.
- Regularly communicate safety performance metrics and statistics.
- Review all recordable incidents and facilitate root cause analysis, corrective actions, and preventive measures.
- Support the ISO 14001 Environmental Management and ISO 45001 Occupational Health & Safety Management Systems.
- Promote safety awareness through various communication channels and initiatives.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and move equipment or supplies weighing up to 33 pounds.
- Operate and inspect manufacturing equipment, requiring manual dexterity.
- Capability to stand for extended periods, potentially up to 12 hours.
- May involve working in environments with hazardous materials and require the use of personal protective equipment.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED is mandatory; a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is preferred.
- Minimum of one year of experience in a safety-focused role is required.
- Familiarity with OSHA regulations and safety management systems is essential.
- Strong communication and organizational skills are necessary for effective planning and execution of safety programs.
