Position Overview

ARU's dynamic Operations team is in search of a seasoned Business Analyst specializing in insurance.

The Business Analyst will serve as the primary conduit between project resources and various business units, tasked with gathering, analyzing, communicating, and validating requirements for modifications to business processes and IT systems. This role will also provide technical consultation for business challenges and opportunities, offering insights into potential technical solutions that align with organizational objectives.

  • Lead the translation of high-level business and user requirements into detailed functional specifications.
  • Act as the liaison between the customer community and development teams to ensure clear communication of requirements.
  • Conduct interviews and facilitate requirements gathering sessions with business representatives.
  • Document business and system functional and non-functional requirements, including usability and performance metrics.
  • Communicate issues effectively to business stakeholders and gather feedback for technology teams.
  • Develop and maintain use cases and workflow scenarios.
  • Collaborate with application developers and vendors to design system components.
  • Oversee user acceptance testing processes.
  • Utilize tools for defining requirements and documentation.
  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert for assigned projects.
  • Manage issue triage and escalation related to requirements and technical challenges.
  • Master ARU's standardized tools and procedures.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution, preferably in Business Administration or Information Systems.
  • Over 6 years of experience in a Business Analyst role within a Property and Casualty Insurance environment.
  • Familiarity with business analysis methodologies, process improvement techniques, and industry-related tools.
  • Experience with Policy Administration software applications.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Proficient in modern technology and able to quickly learn new systems.
  • Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and time management abilities.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with a passion for learning and self-improvement.
  • Proven track record of ownership and accountability for assigned responsibilities.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

Remote Work Requirements:

  • This is a fully remote position, requiring adherence to best practices for remote work, including a professional home office setup with reliable high-speed internet.
  • Candidates may reside anywhere in the United States, but must be available to work during Eastern or Central time business hours.
