Position Summary

The Operations team at ARU is expanding and is in search of a seasoned Business Analyst specializing in insurance.

The Business Analyst will serve as the main point of contact between project teams and various business divisions, responsible for gathering, analyzing, communicating, and validating requirements for enhancements to business processes and IT systems. This role will also involve providing technical insights for business challenges and opportunities, as well as suggesting viable technical solutions to help the organization meet its objectives.

  • Act as the intermediary between the customer base and development teams, ensuring clear communication of requirements.
  • Conduct interviews and facilitate requirements gathering sessions with business stakeholders to document necessary business requirements for system development.
  • Draft and articulate both functional and non-functional requirements, including usability, reliability, and performance criteria.
  • Communicate effectively with business clients to identify issues and gather feedback for technology teams.
  • Develop and maintain use cases and workflow diagrams.
  • Collaborate with application developers and vendors to conceptualize system components.
  • Oversee user acceptance testing processes.
  • Utilize tools for defining requirements and documentation.
  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert for assigned projects and processes.
  • Manage issue triage and escalation related to requirements and technical challenges.
  • Act as a Post-Launch Subject Matter Expert for both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Master the use of ARU's standardized tools and software.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • A BS/BA degree from an accredited institution, preferably in Business Administration or Information Systems.
  • Over 6 years of experience in a Business Analyst role with a focus on solution delivery, particularly within the Property and Casualty Insurance sector.
  • Familiarity with business analysis methodologies, process improvement strategies, project management, and industry-related tools.
  • Hands-on experience with Policy Administration software applications.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal oversight.
  • Proficient in modern technology, including spreadsheets, with a quick learning curve for new systems.
  • Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and time management abilities.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with a passion for continuous learning and self-improvement.
  • Demonstrated ability to take ownership of responsibilities and deliver results.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, presenting professionally at all times.

Remote Work Requirements:

  • This is a fully remote position, requiring adherence to best practices for remote work, including a professional home office setup with reliable high-speed internet.
  • While candidates can reside anywhere in the United States, availability during Eastern or Central time business hours is essential.
