This position plays a vital role in the financial management of patient access at the University of Virginia. As a Medical Office Specialist, you will be responsible for managing patient registration, insurance, and billing functions.

About the Role:

  • You will work closely with patients to ensure accurate and efficient registration processes, providing exceptional customer service and resolving any issues that may arise.
  • Responsibilities include handling cash transactions, issuing receipts, and maintaining accurate records of patient balances and deposits.
  • You will also provide support to other teams within Revenue Cycle, including Financial Coordinators, to ensure seamless communication and problem-solving.
  • As a key member of the team, you will contribute to achieving revenue cycle goals and demonstrate engagement with the team and departmental objectives.

About You:

  • You must have a High School Graduate or Equivalent diploma.
  • No prior experience is required, but you must be eager to learn and adapt quickly to our systems and procedures.
  • A strong understanding of medical terminology and basic math skills are essential.
