Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Employment Solutions Specialist to join our team in Charlottesville. As an integral part of our organization, this role will play a critical role in the development and implementation of innovative employment solutions for refugees and displaced individuals.

Job Responsibilities:

As an Employment Solutions Specialist, you will be responsible for:

  • Program Management & Coordination:
    • Provide leadership and development support to early employment staff, ensuring they have the necessary tools and resources to excel in their roles.
    • Monitor caseload assignments and service provision, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective measures.
    • Cultivate an environment of teamwork through regular program meetings and ongoing training.
    • Develop and implement training programs for new staff, as well as refreshers for existing employees, to ensure compliance with program requirements.
  • Client Services:
    • Oversee the provision of client services, including outreach, recruitment, program orientation, intake, assessments, job readiness training, job counseling, employment case management, and job placement services.
    • Maintain close communication with staff regarding challenging cases, carrying out timely and professional interventions to ensure appropriate service delivery.
    • Identify opportunities to advance gender equality, focusing on increasing access for female participants.
  • Program Oversight:
    • Ensure all programs fulfill funder and agency requirements for documentation, case files, data tracking, and other areas of administrative compliance.
    • Coordinate quality assurance efforts, conducting periodic case file and electronic data reviews.
    • Monitor progress towards programmatic performance requirements, encouraging the employment team to meet these goals.
  • Team/Office Participation:
    • Work collaboratively with other agency staff, particularly the Economic Empowerment Supervisor and team, as well as direct service staff members, to ensure seamless integration of Early Employment Services into the continuum of IRC services.
    • Implement culturally relevant and GEDI-informed client and partner feedback methods, completing the feedback loop using IRC-approved data collection tools and methods.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A university degree in Social Work, Human Services, or a related field of study, or equivalent work experience.
  • A minimum of three years of experience securing employment opportunities for clients, either in refugee resettlement, workforce development, or closely related social service delivery.
  • Prior experience supervising, supporting, and training staff.
  • Demonstrated ability to promote an organizational culture that reflects IRC's core values of service, accountability, integrity, and equality.
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills in English; proficiency in a language spoken by client populations a plus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
