Job Summary

As a Phlebotomy Specialist with CHRISTUS Health, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our medical laboratory. Your primary responsibility will be to collect and process patient specimens, maintaining the highest standards of quality and integrity.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collect and process patient specimens, including blood, urine, and other bodily fluids, in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Ensure that all specimens are properly labeled, stored, and transported to the laboratory for analysis.
  • Operate laboratory equipment, including centrifuges, microscopes, and other devices, to prepare specimens for testing.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of specimen collection, processing, and testing, in accordance with regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with laboratory staff, nurses, and physicians to ensure seamless communication and coordination of patient care.
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to stay up-to-date on the latest laboratory techniques, technologies, and best practices.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent required; completion of a Phlebotomy, Medical Laboratory, or Medical Assistant program preferred.
  • One year of phlebotomy experience preferred; certification from a National Accredited Program is also desirable.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology, computer data entry, and organizational skills is essential.
Work Schedule and Type

PRN (Per Diem As Needed) schedule, with flexible hours to accommodate the needs of the laboratory and patients.
