Job Summary

CenterWell is seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant to join our team in a hybrid role that combines on-site and field-based work. As a Medical Assistant, you will be the first point of contact for patient care, responsible for administrative duties and direct patient care. This role requires a strong ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize tasks, and maintain accurate records.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform clinical duties such as discussing symptoms, gathering and inputting information into electronic medical records, taking vital signs, giving injections, performing diagnostic tests, collecting specimens, drawing blood, sterilizing and cleaning equipment, and maintaining examination rooms.
  • Collaborate closely with Physicians and Nurses to deliver direct patient care.
  • Work within defined parameters to identify work expectations and quality standards, with some latitude over prioritization and timing.
  • Follow standard policies and practices that allow for some opportunity for interpretation and deviation.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 1-3 years of Medical Assistant experience in a 'back office', direct patient care setting, with cross-training in front office procedures.
  • Active Certified Medical Assistant/CMA or Registered Medical Assistant/RMA certification from one of the following organizations: AAMA, AAH, AMT, ARMA, NAHP, NAHT, NCCT, NHA, MedCA.
  • Active phlebotomy certification or willingness to obtain certification within 6 months from date of hire.
  • Hands-on professional phlebotomy experience.
  • Active BLS certification from the American Red Cross (ARC) or American Heart Association (AHA).
  • Ability to travel/drive locally to multiple site locations.
  • Basic computer knowledge and experience with MS Outlook.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bilingual.
  • Experience with HEDIS measures.
  • Experience in Primary Care, Urgent Care, Family Medicine, and/or Internal Medicine.
