About the Role

Middlesex Orthopedic & Spine Associates is seeking a highly skilled Physical Therapy Assistant to join our team in our Middletown, CT location.

Job Summary

The Physical Therapy Assistant will work under the direction of a Registered Physical Therapist to provide comprehensive therapy services in an outpatient setting to orthopedic patients. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of clinical experience as a PTA and possess a current Physical Therapy Assistant license.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide therapy services in accordance with the established plan of care, working collaboratively with other rehab therapists and staff in a supportive team environment.
  • Work with patients to implement programs consistent with their needs and capabilities, and educate them on the plan of care, safety issues, and prescribed exercises.
  • Document patient progress and notify the Registered Physical Therapist of any changes in condition.
  • Participate in staff meetings, in-service programs, and other meetings as requested.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience as a PTA.
  • Outpatient and orthopedic experience preferred.
  • Possess a current Physical Therapy Assistant license.
  • Graduate of a two-year accredited physical therapist assistant program approved by the American Physical Therapy Association.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to perform tasks involving physical activity, including heavy lifting and extensive bending and standing.
