Role Summary:
The Inpatient Physical Therapist is responsible for delivering Physical Therapy services as prescribed by a physician, adhering to hospital regulations, the State of Connecticut Practice Act, and established quality standards. This role includes overseeing the clinical activities of Physical Therapist Assistants (PTA).

Key Responsibilities:
  • Formulates individualized care plans for patients, incorporating their input and agreement, while addressing safety, educational, psychological, and developmental needs.
  • Evaluates and interprets patient data to set and adjust treatment goals, effectively communicating plans and outcomes to patients and their families.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in recommending various therapeutic techniques and modalities.
  • Ensures compliance with professional and departmental documentation standards.
  • Develops a home exercise program tailored to each patient.
  • Maintains a manageable caseload in line with departmental productivity expectations.
  • Participates in continuing education as mandated by licensure and conducts educational sessions for Rehabilitation staff and other healthcare professionals.
  • Engages in regular communication with the Rehabilitation Supervisor, team members, and referring physicians regarding patient care.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
Graduation from an accredited Physical Therapy program
Current licensure or eligibility for licensure in the State of Connecticut

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with electronic medical records
3-5 years of clinical practice
Flexibility in scheduling
