Role Responsibilities: The selected candidate will take on the role of Extension Programs Coordinator, overseeing the Center for Agribusiness and Economic Development. Key responsibilities include:
1. Providing essential information to county agents and producers.
2. Conducting training sessions for county agents.
3. Developing and maintaining annual enterprise budgets.
4. Performing economic analyses on various agricultural issues.
5. Collaborating with county extension agents and participating in local meetings.
Research and Teaching Expectations: The faculty member will be expected to conduct applied research, publish findings in reputable journals, and contribute to extension bulletins. Additionally, teaching one course per academic year at the undergraduate or graduate level is required, along with advising students.
Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Ph.D. in Agricultural Economics, Applied Economics, or a closely related field. For those aiming for the rank of Associate Professor, a minimum of five years in the Assistant Professor role is necessary, while candidates for the Professor rank must have five years in the Associate Professor position.
Preferred Skills: Ideal candidates will have a solid understanding of US and southeastern agricultural practices, experience in client relations, project management, and strong quantitative analysis skills. Excellent communication abilities in English are essential.
Additional Information: This is a full-time, tenure-track position with a focus on extension (80%) and teaching (20%). The rank and tenure status will be determined based on the candidate's experience and qualifications.
