Department Head and Professor of Plant Pathology

The Department of Plant Pathology in the College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences at the University of Georgia is seeking a highly qualified and experienced individual to serve as the Department Head and Professor. This is a tenure-track position with a 9-month academic-year appointment and a guarantee of 2 months of additional summer salary.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide leadership and vision for the department's teaching, research, and Extension programs.
- Support and enhance the department's interdisciplinary and integrative research and Extension programs in fundamental and applied plant pathology.
- Lead and oversee the department's teaching and academic programs.
- Administer and manage the allocation of departmental resources.
- Participate in the development of policy and strategic planning in the college.
- Contribute to the research, Extension, and/or teaching mission of the department.
- Ph.D. in Plant Pathology or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated excellence in teaching, research, and/or Extension.
- Current or previous rank of associate professor or professor with tenure.
- At least five full years in rank at the associate professor level.
- Current or previous rank of professor with tenure.
- At least two years of higher education administrative experience.
