  • POSITION OVERVIEW
    • The Patient Access Coordinator is responsible for providing exceptional service to patients during their check-in and check-out processes. This role involves answering phone inquiries, assisting patients in the office, and managing various administrative tasks. The individual in this position may encounter challenging situations, including addressing complaints related to billing or other concerns. Accuracy in data entry within the practice management system is crucial. While primarily stationed at the Front Desk, the Coordinator may also assist at the Hospital Desk during staffing shortages.
  • POSITION REQUIREMENTS
    • Education and Experience: A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Previous experience in a medical office setting is preferred but not mandatory. Familiarity with insurance processes is also advantageous.
    • Knowledge: A solid understanding of computer systems, particularly current Windows applications, is necessary. Knowledge of various insurance providers is preferred but not essential. Proficiency in English grammar, spelling, and basic mathematics is required.
    • Skills: Strong customer service skills are vital for this role. Above-average computer and data entry skills are necessary, along with basic math abilities.
    • Abilities: The ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining composure in potentially stressful situations is essential. Excellent telephone etiquette is required. The candidate must be capable of handling financial transactions accurately and entering payment data, as well as balancing daily transactions. Additionally, the ability to apply general principles to specific issues to derive logical solutions is important, along with the initiative to think creatively when faced with challenges.
