    • The Patient Access Coordinator is responsible for ensuring a welcoming and efficient experience for patients during their check-in and check-out processes. This role involves answering inquiries, assisting patients in navigating the office, and addressing various concerns, including billing issues and walk-in requests. Accuracy in data entry within the practice management system is essential. The Patient Access Coordinator primarily operates at the Front Desk but may be required to assist at the Hospital Desk during staffing shortages.
  • POSITION REQUIREMENTS
    • Education and Experience: A high school diploma or equivalent is required. While prior experience in a medical office setting is advantageous, it is not mandatory. Familiarity with insurance processes is also preferred but not essential.
    • Knowledge: A solid understanding of computer systems, particularly current Windows applications, is necessary. Familiarity with various insurance providers is beneficial but not required. Proficiency in English grammar, spelling, and basic mathematics is mandatory.
    • Skills: Exceptional customer service skills are crucial for this role. Candidates should possess above-average computer and data entry abilities, along with strong mathematical skills.
    • Abilities: The ideal candidate will demonstrate the capacity to manage multiple tasks while maintaining composure in potentially stressful situations. Excellent telephone etiquette is essential. Candidates must be adept at handling financial transactions and accurately entering payment data, as well as balancing daily transactions. The ability to apply general principles to specific scenarios to derive logical solutions is required, along with the initiative to think creatively when faced with challenges. Additionally, candidates should be capable of managing scheduling issues for providers.
