The American Coatings Association is seeking a seasoned professional to fill the position of Senior Director, Events and Expositions. This key role will be responsible for the strategic planning and execution of programs and events for the association, requiring collaboration with various departments and subsidiaries.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee the planning and execution of events, including the American Coatings Show and Conference, executive-level meetings, and special events.
- Manage a team of event professionals, providing guidance and support to ensure successful event outcomes.
- Develop and manage budgets for large meetings and events, including the American Coatings Show and Conference.
- Secure sponsorship opportunities for events and negotiate contracts with vendors.
- Review and approve vendor invoices to ensure seamless event execution.
- Work closely with the Communications Department to design and promote event booths and materials.
- Collaborate with ACA's partners to plan events and ensure successful outcomes.
- Secure event insurance for ACA meetings and the American Coatings Show.
- Provide regular updates and reports to the ACA President and Senior VP.
- 10+ years of experience in trade show management and event planning.
- Proven track record of leading and managing a team of event professionals.
- Excellent writing and oral communication skills.
- Strong negotiation skills and ability to work with multiple vendors.
- Association meeting planning and trade show experience a plus.
The American Coatings Association offers a competitive salary, ranging from $120,000 to $140,000, depending on experience. We also provide a comprehensive benefits package, including 401(k) match, PTO, medical, dental, and life insurance, commuter benefits, and wellness reimbursement.
