Job Overview

The Ivy at Watertown is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable professional with a strong commitment to memory care to join our exceptional leadership team.

The Memory Care Program Director will take charge of managing and supervising the Reflections community, ensuring that optimal personal care, engagement in activities, and family involvement are achieved to enhance the quality of life for each resident. This role involves planning, directing, coordinating, and executing a comprehensive social and recreational program tailored for residents in the Reflections Neighborhood Community within assisted living.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all aspects of the Reflections community, including nutrition, resident care, family connections, daily staffing, cleanliness, and activity programs.
  • Ensure the development, implementation, and quality of the Reflections program, directing all its components.
  • Encourage and motivate residents to participate in offered activities.
  • Build and maintain relationships with residents, families, staff, volunteers, and others, providing guidance and motivation through training and mentoring to enhance resident engagement.
  • Assess and interpret resident interests in activities, observing participation levels and creatively redesigning activities to boost engagement.
  • Contribute to community growth through involvement in sales and marketing initiatives.
  • Recruit, research, develop, and approve schedules for program leaders, assistants, entertainers, volunteers, and other service providers.
  • Prepare and distribute a monthly newsletter and calendar of events.
  • Recruit, train, and manage the volunteer program.
  • Organize community outings using transportation to facilitate resident participation in shopping, movies, dining, museums, and concerts.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience with knowledge of Alzheimer's, dementia, and related aging and disability issues.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience working with older adults in home care, assisted living, or skilled nursing environments.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing recreational programs through education or practical experience.
  • Must meet Registry of Motor Vehicle requirements to be an approved driver.
