Position Overview:
Join our dedicated team at Boston Children's Hospital as an Overnight Environmental Services Floor Care Specialist. This role is essential in maintaining a pristine and safe environment for our patients and staff.

Key Responsibilities:
The selected candidate will be responsible for:

  • Executing comprehensive hard floor maintenance, including dust mopping, damp mopping, stripping, waxing, and refinishing.
  • Performing carpet and furniture cleaning, which encompasses vacuuming, spot removal, and shampooing.
  • Maintaining cleanliness in designated areas, including stairwells and elevators.
  • Utilizing electric and battery-operated cleaning equipment effectively.
  • Managing the collection of supplies and the packing of regulated medical waste.
  • Adhering to protective clothing protocols as necessary.
  • Responding to emergencies such as floods, ensuring facilities and equipment are dried and cleaned as directed.

Qualifications:
To be considered for this position, candidates must possess:

  • A minimum of six months of experience as a floor care technician or equivalent.
  • The ability to comprehend and follow written instructions.
  • Proficiency in operating powered machinery safely and effectively.
  • Capability to understand and respond to moderately complex instructions.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for engaging with patients and visitors courteously.
  • A commitment to working collaboratively with diverse teams.

Schedule:
This position requires availability from 11:30 PM to 7:30 AM, Monday through Friday, with every other weekend and holiday shifts.
