Team Overview: The Clearing House (TCH) has recently formed a dedicated Strategy team that plays a pivotal role in shaping the organization's business direction. This team is tasked with conducting thorough analyses and executing mergers and acquisitions, as well as fostering strategic partnerships and alliances. The Strategy team is positioned to ensure alignment across the organization while keeping abreast of competitive trends in the dynamic payments landscape.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform comprehensive and data-driven strategic evaluations of TCH's payment offerings, assets, and initiatives.
  • Assess both internal and external opportunities, including potential collaborations and acquisitions, to enhance TCH's capabilities and market position.
  • Act as a primary resource for payments industry insights, providing thought leadership, research, and educational support.
  • Utilize findings to influence the development of next-generation payment products and services that cater to client needs.
  • Promote TCH's objectives within key industry groups and consortia.

Essential Functions: The Senior Vice President (SVP) within the Strategy Group will spearhead payment-related strategic initiatives for TCH. This role encompasses managing various distinct projects simultaneously, framing strategic inquiries, overseeing necessary analyses, and ensuring cohesive communication across the organization.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Serving as a strategic consultant to senior executives throughout TCH.
  • Defining payment-related strategic challenges and devising solutions.
  • Leading initiatives related to partnerships, mergers and acquisitions, and innovation.
  • Engaging with pertinent internal and external stakeholders as required.
  • Communicating the strategic process, analyses, options, and recommendations clearly.
  • Establishing the necessary research and analytical frameworks, incorporating insights from prior work.
  • Staying informed about developments in the payments sector and effectively communicating these insights within the organization.
  • Leading discussions on all payment-related topics and advancing the strategic thinking at TCH.
  • Building collaborative relationships across various departments within TCH.
  • Encouraging innovative thinking and challenging the status quo.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative discipline (e.g., engineering, mathematics, economics).
  • Advanced degree such as an MBA or in a quantitative field.
  • Over 15 years of experience in payments, strategy, partnerships, or innovation.
  • Extensive knowledge across multiple facets of the payments industry.
  • Current experience in consulting or a similar role within a financial institution or payments organization.
  • Proven ability to lead complex strategic projects with cross-organizational accountability.
  • Strong analytical skills combined with creativity and a solid work ethic.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and analytical capabilities.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, along with strong interpersonal abilities.
  • High adaptability to changing work demands and challenges.
  • A strong sense of personal ownership and pride in work.
  • A collaborative mindset with a willingness to engage in hands-on work.

Work Environment: The work setting is generally favorable, with adequate lighting and temperature control. The role typically requires a mix of office-based work and occasional travel for client meetings, conferences, and other events.

Compensation: The anticipated salary range for candidates based in New York is competitive and commensurate with experience and qualifications.
