Beverage Director Job Description

Job Summary:

The Beverage Director is a key member of the Wildflower Farms team, responsible for overseeing the management of the restaurant, event, and beverage teams to ensure an exceptional guest experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inventory Management: Manage inventory and purchasing supplies and ingredients for drinks on the menu, ensuring adequate stock levels at all times.
  • Beverage Menu Development: Update the beverage menu when trends or inventory changes occur, ensuring menu items are priced correctly to achieve Beverage Cost.
  • Staff Management: Hire and train staff on food and drink preparation, health and safety, and alcoholic beverage service, ensuring adequate staffing levels for the bar team at all times.
  • Guest Experience: Ensure guests have a positive dining experience, including surprise and delights when possible.
  • Health and Safety: Enforce health and safety standards and food safety compliance, implementing rules and educating staff on how to prepare, store, and present food, as well as washing hands and wearing protective clothing.
  • Training and Development: Continuously train the bar team to provide luxury service to guests, ensuring they have adequate knowledge of food & beverage ingredients.
  • Operations Management: Support the bar team to conduct proper opening and closing procedures, ensuring the bar is adequately stocked with all items needed for a shift.
  • Guest Engagement: Engage with guests during their dining experience to ensure all needs are met, conducting daily meetings with the bar team to ensure knowledge of daily operations and beverage offerings.
  • Restaurant Management: Assist with overall restaurant management, including floor shifts, bartender support, wine recommendations for guests, and compliance with all Federal, State, and Local beverage regulations.
  • Inventory Control: Through frequent inventory checks, monitor beverage inventory levels to ensure adequate inventory levels at all times, completing monthly inventory and attending meetings as necessary.
  • Event Support: Partner with the Events team to assist with beverage ordering for events, ensuring that all beverage storage areas remain organized and secure at all times.
  • Additional Responsibilities: Perform any other duties as assigned.

Pay Range: $75,000 - $90,000
