We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Patient Care Transporter to join our team at Kaiser Permanente.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for transporting patients, medical equipment, laboratory specimens and supplies within all areas of the medical center.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Transport patients (pre-operative, post-operative, Hemodialysis etc.) by wheel chair or gurney within the Medical Center.
  • Pick up routine and STAT requests for laboratory specimens, blood, equipment, supplies, and other appropriate materials (medical or other) including data reports on regular routes or as required and delivers to appropriate location in hospital facility.
  • With an escort by a Security Officer, transport expired patients to the morgue.
  • Pick up soiled patient equipment and supplies from Nursing units and transport to Central Processing.
  • Transport equipment from NICU to central processing as requested.
  • Perform CPR and respond to Code Blue Pages as necessary.

Requirements:

  • Six (6) months previous experience in general patient care/hospital transportation.
  • Demonstrated ability to follow written and oral directions.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Valid Class C California Drivers License and a current California Driver Record Information Sheet. Must have a driving record free of accidents involving the applicants negligence. Also free of citations with forfeit of bail for driving while intoxicated or driving while under the influence of drugs or reckless driving.

Salary: $45,000 - $55,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.

Working Conditions: This position requires working every other weekend and may involve lifting heavy equipment.
