Job Summary

Geisinger Health System seeks a highly skilled Operations Manager II to provide administrative leadership assistance to the operations of assigned departments. This role is responsible for business and market development, as well as all regulatory activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide operational accountability and administrative leadership for assigned areas.
  • Serve as department liaison with outside constituents and participate in assigned management forums.
  • Collaborate in developing, revising, and auditing all department policies and operational procedures.
  • Develop business plans, including budgets, facilities and capital analyses, market analyses, growth plans, and operational contingency plans.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of all strategic and tactical operational plans.
  • Responsible for the financial performance of all assigned areas.
  • Develop, implement, and achieve budgets and provide input into business plans, financial pro-formas, and operational contingency plans.
  • Implement activities and tools that consistently educate and focus staff on key performance indicators.
  • Facilitate active engagement and communication with department staff via formal meetings and informal interactions.
  • Handle all employee relations activities, including coaching and counseling.
  • Assist with related activities for physician staff.
  • Assess staff and facilitate skill development for all personnel as needed.
  • Lead and monitor annual staff patient safety education.
  • Direct and monitor ongoing compliance with regulatory requirements in collaboration with performance improvement staff.
  • Monitor all incidents and ensure all events are reported immediately.
  • Direct department activities to meet patient access and efficiency goals.
  • Guide outpatient care management activities.
  • Participate on teams designed to improve care.
  • Direct preventative maintenance and repair of facilities, equipment, and grounds.
  • Monitor and maintain interior and exterior cleanliness and aesthetics of facilities.
  • Implement appropriate security measures.
  • Coordinate purchasing activity, including monitoring inventory and supervising the ordering of items as needed.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Minimum of 3 years of managerial/supervisory experience
  • Minimum of 3 years of healthcare experience
