We are currently seeking two experienced Laboratory Supervisors to oversee operations within a hospital laboratory setting. This role presents an excellent opportunity for leadership, innovation, and team development to ensure the delivery of top-tier diagnostic services.
Shift Details:Standard Hours: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM, Monday to Friday
Alternative Schedule: 3x12s, 3 PM - 3:30 AM, Saturday, Sunday, and one weekday
Key Responsibilities:- Oversee daily operations of the laboratory, including both technical and administrative functions.
- Manage staffing levels and production schedules to ensure optimal coverage and efficient use of resources.
- Provide supervision, training, and mentorship to laboratory personnel, taking full responsibility for departmental staff.
- Ensure the laboratory meets service excellence standards and adheres to established turnaround times.
- Address client inquiries and operational challenges promptly, collaborating with relevant medical and technical directors.
- Maintain compliance with corporate, state, and federal regulations regarding laboratory safety and quality assurance.
- Assist in the development and implementation of laboratory protocols and the integration of new technologies.
- Lead recruitment, performance management, and professional development initiatives for laboratory staff.
- Foster effective communication across all levels of the organization, including leadership and inter-departmental teams.
- Conduct regular departmental meetings to ensure clear communication and alignment of goals.
- Investigate procedural deviations and implement corrective actions as necessary.
- Maintain up-to-date technical knowledge relevant to laboratory testing processes.
- Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, Medical Technology, or a related field is mandatory.
- Accreditation in Medical Laboratory Science (NACCLS) is mandatory.
- A minimum of 4 years of supervisory experience in a clinical diagnostics laboratory is mandatory.
- ASCP/MLS/MS certification or equivalent is mandatory.
- Experience managing multiple direct reports is essential.
- Prior experience in an acute care environment is preferred.
- Comprehensive knowledge of CLIA, CAP, AABB, TJC, and relevant state regulations is required.
- Strong understanding of laboratory operations, policies, and procedures is essential.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
- High attention to detail and strong organizational abilities are essential.
- Ability to make informed decisions in a dynamic environment is crucial.
- Capability to meet the physical demands of the role is necessary.
