Quality Improvement Specialist (RN)

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Improvement Specialist to join our team at LifeBridge Health. As a Quality Improvement Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the highest quality of patient care and safety across our healthcare system.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive facility assessments to identify quality improvement opportunities and develop action plans to address them.
  • Collaborate with healthcare leaders, project managers, and clinicians to prioritize and implement quality improvement initiatives.
  • Participate in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Action Plan (AP) reviews, and ensure follow-up on action items until event closure.
  • Develop and enhance quality management education and infrastructure as assigned.
  • Share findings from quality reviews and projects with appropriate leaders and committees to support implementation and completion of effective action plans.
  • Coordinate and facilitate quality improvement projects, and report on project progress and outcomes.
  • Complete medical record reviews, compare current practice against best practice guidelines, and provide recommendations to improve patient care.
  • Support Medical Staff Peer Review Coordinators with identifying evidence-based practices to support peer review activities and actions identified from peer review trends.
  • Support Multidisciplinary Committees for quality improvement activities.
  • Monitor compliance with project progress relative to timelines and deadlines.
  • Monitor impact of short and long-term compliance with implemented action items using an auditing process as applicable.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) required.
  • Maryland Registered Nurse License (RN) required.
  • 7+ years of experience with 3-5 years of quality improvement/patient safety experience preferred.
  • CPHQ certification preferred.
