Key Responsibilities:


As a Senior Information Technology Analyst, your primary duties will involve:

  • Administering, customizing, and troubleshooting the CICS framework through the development, modification, and installation of CICS systems and application software.
  • Providing assistance during agency disaster recovery drills.

Your Role Will Include:
  • Analyzing high-level specifications and crafting detailed design documentation.
  • Developing and managing CICS systems-level and application software utilizing Common Business Oriented Language (COBOL), Assembler Language Code (ALC), or Java.
  • Collaborating with customer analysts, management, and end-users to gather requirements.
  • Creating comprehensive test plans to validate functional specifications.
  • Overseeing life cycle management and coordination of software modifications throughout the customer's Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Maintaining documentation on SharePoint for CICS systems and application software.
  • Identifying and mitigating 'Single Points of Failure' within the CICS environment.
  • Establishing new CICS regions and defining Resource Definition Online (RDO) parameters in alignment with application needs.
  • Modifying CICS architecture to address vulnerabilities.
  • Processing Job Control Language (JCL) and RDO adjustments based on service requests.
  • Preparing change management documentation and procedures.
  • Updating CICS configuration documentation to reflect architectural changes.
  • Collaborating with application developers and customer testers to ensure proper identification and definition of all CICS resources.
  • Implementing monitoring capabilities for the CICS production environment to detect issues and generate automated alerts.
  • Providing 24/7 support to resolve CICS-related issues promptly.
  • Offering technical expertise on CICS application and configuration matters, available 40 hours per week via a laptop workstation.
  • Troubleshooting CICS systems and application challenges and facilitating necessary corrective actions.
  • Communicating with designated customer personnel regarding issue details, expected resolutions, and root cause analyses.
  • Supporting recovery efforts during disaster recovery exercises or actual incidents.

Qualifications:


The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A minimum of ten (10) years of experience in CICS system programming or related fields.
  • Demonstrated expertise in various concepts, practices, and procedures within the field.
  • Extensive experience and judgment to effectively plan and achieve objectives.
  • The ability to handle a range of complex tasks.
  • Consultative skills on intricate projects, recognized as a senior contributor or specialist.

Education:


A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or a related scientific or technical discipline is required. A Master's Degree is preferred.


Clearance Requirement:
Eligibility to obtain Public Trust clearance.

Working Environment:
This position operates in a professional office setting with a predominantly low to moderate noise level. Standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines will be utilized.


The role is primarily indoors, consistent with standard office positions, and requires the ability to stand, walk, sit, use hands for handling objects, reach with hands and arms, and communicate effectively.

The workload may necessitate prolonged periods of sitting, and the incumbent must be capable of reading, performing basic math calculations, and managing moderate stress levels.

Occasional lifting or moving of up to 25 lbs may be required.

Specific vision capabilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
