Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Diagnostic Imaging Specialist to join our team at Ansible Government Solutions. As a Diagnostic Imaging Specialist, you will be responsible for performing ultrasound scans and optimizing examination potential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ultrasound Scanning: Maintain in-depth knowledge of ultrasound scanning and optimizing examination potential.
  • Clinical Information: Collect and communicate all pertinent clinical information to the Radiologist.
  • Patient Education: Explain exams to patients and provide proper patient preparation requirements.
  • Quality Improvement: Work closely with other department technologists and continue quality improvement activities on a daily basis.
  • Equipment Setup: Set up radiographic suites and ensure that sterile supplies, contrast materials, catheters, and other required equipment/supplies are present and available.
  • Contrast Administration: Prepare and administer contrast material orally, by enema, or under close supervision of radiologists, intravenously but not independently.
  • Patient Care: Lift, position, push, and transfer patients, supplies, and/or equipment as needed.
  • Clerical Duties: Perform related clerical duties such as sending images to PACS, archiving images, and case editing of computer requests and reports.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain records and enter patient information into the computer through the use of the Radiology Veterans Information Systems and Technology Architecture (VISTA) package.
Requirements
  • English Language Proficiency: English language proficiency is required.
  • Registration: Registered or registry eligible in Sonography by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS).
  • Experience: A minimum of two (2) years of work experience in the specialized modality in a Level 1 hospital setting.
  • Certifications: American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
  • Availability: No sponsorship available.
Physical Demands
  • Sitting and Standing: Sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, and reach above shoulders during the work shift.
  • Lifting: Lift up to 50 lbs from floor to waist.
  • Carrying: Carry up to 40 lbs a reasonable distance.
  • Pushing and Pulling: Push/pull with 30 lbs of force.
