Quality Improvement Specialist (RN) Job Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Improvement Specialist to join our team at LifeBridge Health. As a Quality Improvement Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the highest quality of patient care and improving the overall performance of our healthcare organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive facility assessments to identify quality improvement opportunities and develop action plans to address them.
  • Collaborate with healthcare leaders, project managers, and clinicians to prioritize and implement quality improvement initiatives.
  • Participate in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Action Plan (AP) reviews, and follow up on action items to ensure event closure.
  • Develop and enhance quality management education and infrastructure to support quality improvement initiatives.
  • Share findings from quality reviews and projects with stakeholders to support implementation and completion of effective action plans.
  • Coordinate and facilitate quality improvement projects, including data collection, analysis, and reporting.
  • Complete medical record reviews to identify areas for improvement and provide recommendations to enhance patient care.
  • Support Medical Staff Peer Review Coordinators in identifying evidence-based practices to support peer review activities.
  • Monitor compliance with project progress and timelines, and identify areas for improvement.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) required.
  • Maryland Registered Nurse License (RN) required.
  • 7+ years of experience in quality improvement/patient safety, with 3-5 years in a leadership or management role.
  • CPHQ certification preferred.
